"Master Potter"

"Master Potter"
is a 16Ē x 20Ē oil painting with a black shadow frame. It is done entirely with a palette knife, not a single brush stroke. The texture on the hands looking more clay-like reminds us how God formed Adam from the clay of the earth; helping us visualize our flesh as clay in Godís hands. The water the potter uses to make the clay pliable is the Word of God. The clay is centered on the wheel representing our center: Jesus Christ. The wheel spins at just the right speed so the clay will not tear, representing us having patience with Godís timing. The potter puts pressure on both the inside and outside of the clay just as God transforms us into a new creation, both inside and out. The potter cuts off the excess clay and rough edges just as God prunes the excess in our lives. When the form is ready the clay is fired. God allows us to go through the fire to test, purify and cleanse our imperfections. Then is when we are strengthened and truly ready to be tools that serve others.

"But now, O Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You our potter; and we are all the work of Your hand." Isaiah 64:8
